Keyboarding Basics

Computer Keyboarding Basics will teach students how to type using all ten fingers and, with practice, without looking at the keyboard. We do this by learning how to enhance typing speed by using the principles of touch-typing. Students will also become more familiar with Microsoft Word as it is used to do the practice exercises. We start out by learning and becoming comfortable with a few keys, adding new keys after mastering previous ones (example; typing them without having to think about where they are located on the keyboard). With each session we will reinforce what we have learned in the previous sessions as a basis for new challenges. By the end of the course students will be typing complete sentences using letters numbers and punctuation. This class meets one day a week for seven weeks, 2 hour sessions
